The Holden Arboretum encompasses over 3,400 acres and is the one of the largest arboreta in the United States. Established in 1931 on 100 acres and accredited by the American Association of Museums, The Holden Arboretum is dedicated to collecting woody plants for ornamental and scientific merit for northeastern Ohio. Education, research, and conservation efforts combine with the plant collections and natural areas to make The Holden Arboretum one of the nation's leading horticultural institutions.
