Newcomerstown is located in northeastern Ohio in southwestern
Tuscarawas County abutting the
Coshocton County line about 70 miles east-northeast of
Columbus. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 4,023, an increase of 11 since 1990.
The Cy Young State Memomorial is located here. Young, the winningest pitcher in the Major Leagues with 511 victories, was born in Gilmore, about 10 statute miles east of here.
