Ravenwood Castle sits atop the highest hill in scenic Vinton County's Swan township. Fifty acres of forest and large rock formations surround the castle which reached by a half-mile private road. Twelfth-century Norman in style, Ravenwood Castle's crenelated towers contain the guest rooms and suites, all with elegant private baths which include garden or whirlpool tubs. Most rooms or suites offer a private balcony or deck and all have a gas fireplace with antique mantle. All have antique stained glass windows and/or lamps. Each has king, queen or two double beds and good reading lamps. Another lodging option is the "village" of picturesque cottages, inspired by 15th-19th century cottages and the people who might have lived and worked in them hundreds of years ago.
