Ironton Middle School houses grades four, five and six. Grades five and six are departmental in organization and the fourth grade is a modified departmental. Each of the regular classrooms has five student computers tied into a central file server with a wide variety of curriculum available to the teachers and students. Each teacher has a teacher workstation with access to the internet and email. As an alternate selection for music at grade six, students may learn keyboarding skills through the Yamaha Music Program. A dynamic visual arts program is also taught to the students at all three grade levels.
