This Memorial is dedicated to Adam Willis Wagnalls, one of the founders of Funk and Wagnalls publishing house in 1877. The original building houses an auditorium, a library, a dining hall, meeting room and two tower rooms.
The auditorium, seating 400, has a high oak-beamed ceiling with a motion picture projection room at the rear. A beautiful stage overlooks the console of a Welte-Mignon organ. A dining room with a capacity for 150 people, a small stage with piano, and a complete kitchen are located on the lower level of the original Memorial Building.
Art work from the Wagnalls and Jones estates is displayed throughout the Memorial complex. Of special interest are the original Norman Rockwell paintings which served as covers for The Literary Digest, an early Funk and Wagnalls publication.
Other collections include the Dildine Chinese collection, Japanese dolls, autographs, photographs, writings by Edwin Markham and many paintings by John Ward Dunsmore.
