Search Lithopolis Ohio

Lithopolis is located in central Ohio in Fairfield County between Columbus and Lancaster near the Franklin County/Pickaway County line.

One of the highlights of the town is the Wagnalls Memorial Library which was given to the residents of Lithopolis and Bloom Township by Mabel Wagnalls Jones in memory of her parents, Adam and Anna Wagnalls. Adam was the co-founder of the Funk and Wagnalls Publishing Co. The huge building resembles a state-of-the-art country club restaurant with its many-angled roofline, vaulted ceilings and seemingly acres of glass that provide an airy atmosphere to the library.

The Lithopolis Area Fine Arts Association has been active for over 30 years and has sponsored art exhibitions and festivals, awards to local artists, films from the classics, the annual Performing Arts Series, and Artists in the Schools workshops.
