Warren is located in northeastern Ohio in Trumbull County (of which it is the county seat) about 10 miles northwest of Youngstown on the banks of the Mahoning River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 46,866, a decrease of 3,927 since 1990.Nearby recreation can be found at Mosquito Creek Lake and Mosquito Lake State Park about 5 miles north of town. In addition, golfers will enjoy a nice selection of courses including Avalon Lakes Golf Course and Avalon South, both public 18-hole courses and Trumbull Country Club, a private club with a reciprocal guest agreement for members of other clubs and featuring 18 holes of play. Cranberry Hills Golf Course and Northwood Golf Club are both public 9-hole facilities. Other local attractions include the National Packard Museum.
