This highly regarded institution was founded in 1845 and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Its 71-acre campus provides instruction to about 2000 full-time undergraduates. There are no graduate programs. An active list of intercollegiate sports provides competition for students in addition to a number of intramural sports. About half of the students come from Ohio. Fraternities and sororities are active. Business, biology, and education are popular majors.
