Atoka

Atoka is located in southeastern Oklahoma in Atoka County (of which it is the county seat) south-southwest of McAlester along U.S. Highway 69 about 5 miles south of Atoka Lake and west of McGee Creek Lake, McGee Creek State Park and Boggy Depot State Park.

Local attractions include the Confederate Memorial Museum/Info Center.

The population estimate for July 1, 199 8 was 3,268, a decrease of 30 since 1990.
