Interstate 44 enters Oklahoma from Texas, near Wichita Falls, and heads north to
Lawton. From
Executive Inn Lawton, it travels northeasterly past
Chickasha and into
Oklahoma City. From
Oklahoma City, it proceeds northeast through
Tulsa, then through
Vinita and
Miami before reaching the threeway state border with Kansas and Missouri, near the city of Joplin.
From Texas to Oklahoma City, the freeway is known as the H.E. Bailey Turnpike. Between Oklahoma City and Tulsa, its name is the Turner Turnpike. From Tulsa to the Kansas border, it is the Will Rogers Turnpike.
