Keokuk Falls was located in central Oklahoma in
Pottawatomie County on the banks of the
North Canadian River northeast of
Shawnee.
The town was named for Chief Keokuk (Watchful Fox), leader of the Fox/Sac nation. It has a colorful past as it was thriving area in the 1920's and 30's and was a popular hangout for outlaws including "Pretty Boy Floyd".
