Langley Oklahoma

Langley sprang up in 1938 when the dam that created the Grand Lake O' the Cherokees was being constucted. It is named for past U.S. Senator J. Howard Langley who was influential in bringing the project to the area and is located in northeasern Oklahoma in northeastern McCurtain County about 40 miles northeast of Tulsa.

The area boasts a number of nearby recreational facilities including Cherokee State Park, Disney/Little Blue State Park, Lake Eucha State Park and Spavinaw State Park. In addition, boating, fishing, skiing and other water-related activities can be enjoyed at Lake Hudson just south of town.

The population estimate for 2000 was about 800.
