Tahama

Tahama is located in eastern Oklahoma in Haskell County just south of where the Canadian River empties into the Arkansas River and abuts the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge.

As an historical footnote to the area, the original Tahama jail, built in the 1800's, was known as "Fort Prentice" and named for its first prisoner, Frank Prentice.
