Woodward

Woodward is located in northwestern Oklahoma in Woodward County (of which it is the county seat) north of Elk City along U.S. Highway 270 on the banks of the North Canadian River. It is southeast of Fort Supply Lake and west of Boiling Springs State Park.

Area attractions include the Plains Indians & Pioneers Museum and Fort Supply, the provisioning headquarters for Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 12,034, a decrease of 306 since 1990.
