Yale is located in central Oklahoma in Payne County about 20 miles east of Stillwater just north of the Cimarron River.The town is most noted for the Jim Thorpe Home. Jim Thorpe was one of Oklahoma's and the nation's most decorated athletes of all time. He was selected as both the best athlete of the first half of the 20th century and the best athlete of the century.
