Bancroft

Internationally renowned for its abundant minerals and semiprecious stones. The area yields examples of 80 percent of Canada's minerals, most impressive of which is blue sodalite, found almost exclusively in Bancroft. The International Bancroft Rock Hound Gemboree occurs in late July to early August and offers four days of mineral shows, demonstrations, and field trips.
