Constructed in 1867, Mississippi Valley Textile Museum features a fabulous blend of the old and new all related to the history of the Mississippi Valley and the textile industry. Exhibitions range from early mill history and period mill equipment to cottage industry and eclectic modern fiber art exhibitions. A wonderful collection of unique gifts is also available in their charming gift shop. They also feature an education centre which illustrates the process of manufacturing wool from sheep to sweater, including wool production, dyeing techniques and alternate fiber production through mini exhibitions.
