There are 2 buildings on the site. One is an an excellent example of Georgian Architecture and the oldest stone house north of Toronto. It was the family home of the Ermatingers. The other building is a guard house that was moved to the site recently. This was the 1814 home of Charles Ermatinger, a French fur-trader. It has been restored to its original condition and has period furnishings. Interpreters demonstrate cooking, baking, crafts. The lower part of the house was used as an early 19th century powder magazine of the North West Company, and the upper portion was the home of Francis Clergue.
