Fort Erie Ontario

Fort Erie was settled in the 1780's by Loyalists, and it is a major point of entry into Canada from the United States. The Peace Bridge links Fort Erie to Buffalo and the scenic Niagara Parkway extends from Fort Erie to Niagara Falls and Niagara Lake. The Prince of Wales Stakes is the second jewel of Canada's Triple Crown and is held in Fort Erie in late July. The Friendship Festival is held in early July and celebrates more than 175 years of peace between Canada and the United States. One of the top fishing events in Canada, the Lake Erie Can Am Challenge Walleye Tournament, takes place in August.
