Wide tree-lined streets radiate like spokes from the courthouse in Goderich, the site of the largest harbor on the Canadian side of Lake Huron. The area is the terminus of the Huron Road (Highway 8). In spring and summer, visitors can fish and canoe on the Maitland River, and cross-country ski in the winter. Harness racing is offered 20k/12m south of town.
