Southwest of
Ottawa on Highway 7, Perth was established as a military settlement. The last recorded duel in Ontario was fought here in 1833. The town displays a model of the Mammoth Cheese, a 9,979kg(22,000lb) block of cheese made for the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago by Ontario dairy farmers.
