Southwestern Ontario Heritage Village

Southwestern Ontario Heritage Village, centrally located in Essex County, encompasses 54 wooded acres and manicured lawns. There are a number of nineteenth and early twentieth century buildings, including log cabins, a general store, barber/cobbler shop, church and school. All of the buildings have been relocated here from various sites in Essex County. Once here, they are set on permanent foundations, restored, and stocked with furnishings of the past. The Transportation Museum displays antiq ue and classic cars, wagons, trucks, motorcycles, and other memorabilia from bygone days. The display includes the only surviving 1893 Shamrock, which is one of the oldest gas-powered cars in Ontario, and a 1992 Dodge Viper, which was the first model shipped to Canada.
