Sault Area Hospital

Sault Area Hospital (SAH) is an amalgamation of two acute care hospitals, the former Plummer Memorial Public Hospital and SSM General Hospital Inc. The provincial government has announced its support for construction of a new hospital on the Davey Home site and plans are on track for construction to begin in 2004. SAH serves the community of Sault Ste. Marie (pop. 75,000) and a catchment area of approximately 40,000 in the Algoma District.
