Big Lava Lake

Big Lava Lake is in the Deschutes National Forest, in Deschutes County. Big Lava Lake was formed as a result of lava flows creating a dam along its eastern shoreline. Big Lava Lake connects with Little Lava Lake to the south, only during periods of spring high water. The current fish population includes brook trout, rainbow trout, whitefish, and tui chub.
