Garibaldi Bird Watching

Four tenths of a mile west from the turn off from Highway 101 toward the Garibaldi docks, and just past the Coast Guard station, there is an easily-missed one way loop leading down to the bay. This sheltered area attracts great flocks of bay ducks in winter.Just .3 miles farther west from Garibaldi, there is a viewpoint overlooking a fair portion of the outer bay. Six tenths of a mile from the viewpoint, the road returns to water level. Notice a series of large rocks in the bay, which is now quite narrow. Park on the west side of the road by the small buildings and walk back a short way down the tracks.
