Turn west on Central and left on 3rd to see the third oldest art museum in Oregon. Housed in a former 1930s post office, you’ll find original works of art as well as the Prefontaine Memorial Gallery, which includes tennis shoes and medals of the former world-class runner. CAM is also the start of a series of Prefontaine plaques placed throughout Coos Bay that memorialize Pre’s former training grounds.
