Elevation: 5,400 feet. Special features include a dump station, piped potable water, fire rings, boat launch, recycle center and interpretive sign.
The location: Northeast side of Waldo Lake, 37 miles east of Oakridge. To get there: From Oakridge, proceed east on Highway 58 for 25 miles to the Waldo Lake Road (FS Road 5897). Follow Waldo Lake Road for 11 miles to FS Road 5898. Continue on FS Road 5898 to Islet Campground.
The usage of this camp is low. The season is: July-September (snow dependant). Overnight-14 day limit. There is a fee to use this camp. There are 55 tent, auto, trailer sites that accept a trailer lengh of 30 feet.
Activities include camping, picnicking, fishing, hiking, boating (10 M.P.H. speed limit), bicycling, swimming.
NOTE: The mosquito population is high from June to mid-August and can by quiet bothersome, so be prepared.
