Manzanita is located in Tillamook County south of Astoria, between Cannon Beach and Nehalem, along Highway 101 and the Pacific Ocean coastline.
Manzanita is a resort community settled at the base of Neahkahnie Mountain. According to Indian legend, the mountain was the home of a god called E-Kan-Ni. It is believed that Spanish treasure is still buried on the mountain. Oswald West State Park is three miles north and Nehalem Bay State Park is three miles south of Manzanita.
This secluded seaside community of 500 has a 9-hole golf course, in addition to lodging and dining facilties for visitors. Looking to the south of Manzanita, you can see almost endless beach with no development of any kind.
