Located 18 miles south of
Ashland, Mt Ashland is the downhill ski resort of
Southern Oregon. When the owners of this popular resort threatened to close it down a few years ago, the residents of Southern Oregon bought it. Today, it is one of the most successful community-owned ski areas in the country.
The resort is open from Thanksgiving through April and offers four chairlifts, 23 runs and 1150 feet of vertical drop.
