Named for the biblical character famed as a hunter, Nimrod is located in Lane County along Highway 126 east of Eugene on the banks of theMcKenzie River between Vida and Blue River, within the Willamette National Forest. There is a fire station situated in town and camping is available nearby at the Howard Morton Memorial State Park and the Ben and Kay Dorris State Park. This area on the river (near Eagle Rock) has some of the best world class rainbow trout fly-fishing in Oregon.Nimrod is part of the Eugene-Springfield, Oregon metro area.
