The Clackamas River trip begins at Barton Park, only 25 minutes southeast of Portland along Hwy 224. Known as Portland's favorite backyard river playground, this trip include class I-II water through wooded forest scenery. This section of the river has excellent flow throughout the summer with many small and fun rapids. The river service also offers guided 1/2 and full day trips on the upper river above Estacada and self guided raft rentals on the lower river from McIver Park to Barton or Carver. With camping available at both Barton and McIver Parks there is a great opportunity to conduct a one or two day camp trip on the lower river.
