Portland Metropolitan Area.
Established as the Vanport Extension Center in 1946, the institution took its current name in 1955 and was granted university status in 1969.
The University is situated along the tree-lined South Park Blocks of downtown portland. Its position in the heart of Oregon's economic and cultural center enables PSU students and faculty to apply scholarly theory to the real-world problems of business and community organizations. They offer over 100 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees, as well as graduate certificates and continuing education programs.
Portland State is located in Multnomah County and has an enrollment of about 17,000.
Athletic scholarships are given in football, basketball, baseball, track/cross country and other sports.
