Horses use. The Erma Bell Lakes Trail starts here and is a portal into the Three Sisters Wilderness Area. This trail is maintained to be accessible for wheelchair users, though it is challenging.
Near the Sisters Wilderness Area in the Willamette National Forest. The location is three miles south of Box Canyon, and 31 miles northeast of Westfir, (Oakridge). From Westfir, proceed north on Aufderheide National Scenic Byway, (FS Road 19) for 35 miles to FS Road 1957. Follow FS Road 1957 for 4 miles to Skookum Creek Campground. The elevation is 4,500 feet.
Leashed pets permitted. No Trailer RV sites available. Use Fees are collected. No reservations required. Open mid-May to mid-November, (Snow dependent). Contact the Rigdon Ranger District for more information.
