Founded in 1815, it is one of the oldest colleges west of the Allegheny Mountains. The college has a number of buildings constructed in the early 19th century, including Bentley Hall, a fine example of Federal architecture. Pelletier Library contains a notable collection of Lincoln memorabilia.
