Clearfield is located in
Clearfield County, of which it is the county seat, north of
Altoona between
Dubois and
Milesburg along Highway 322 on the banks of the Susquehanna River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 6,383, a decrease of 250 since 1990.
