The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (formerly Concerto Soloists) will begin its inaugural season in Philadelphia's new Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in the Winter of 2001. Founded in 1964 by Artistic Director Marc Mostovoy, the Orchestra i s recognized as Philadelphia's internationally-acclaimed resident chamber orchestra. Under the baton of renowned conductors, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia performs a wide repertoire of music from intimate Baroque and classical works of the 1 8th century to stimulating and inspiring pieces of the 19th and 20th centuries. Since its inception, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia has presented over sixty world premiers, almost all by American composers. In addition to their sold-out subsc ription series in Philadelphia, the Orchestra has been heard on tour throughout the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
