Provides an overview of the history of the community from the time of settlement in 1683 to the present. Germantown was America's first German settlement, the scene of the Revolutionary Battle of Germantown, the birthplace of writer Louisa May Alcott, the site of the Underground Railroad and is home to more than 12 historic houses. Museum and library collections include toys and dolls, quilts, costumes, furniture, genealogy records, photographs and paintings. Open Tuesday and Thursday 10am-4pm, Sunday 1-5pm.
