Located in a remote area, Patterson has two rustic picnic pavilions for visitors to enjoy a quiet lunch. Patterson is a trailhead for the Susquehannock Trail, a favorite of backpackers.
Patterson State Park is 6.5 miles south of Sweden Valley on PA Route 44. This 10-acre park is surrounded by the Susquehannock State Forest and provides access to cross-country ski and snowmobile trails. The Susquehannock Trail System, consisting of 85-miles of hiking trails, passes through the park. The park offers primitive overnight camping facilities as well as picnic tables and a pavilion.
