Washington is located in
Washington County (of which it is the county seat) southwest of
Pittsburgh along Interstate 70 near the West Virginia state line. Home of the Washington and Jefferson College campus.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 14,805, a decrease of 1,059 since 1990.
