Province House National Hist. Site

Located at the corner of Richmond and Great Gorge Sts., this is considered the birthplace of Confederation, the first meeting to discuss federal union was held here in 1864. The Confederation Chamber and several other rooms have been restored to their 19th century Victorian appearance. The building houses the Provincial Legislature. Historical programs offered in the summer. Open year round. Bilingual guide service offered. Donations accepted. Group fee per person.
