Jayuya is known for the Jayuya Indian Festival held in November. The Festival, which celebrates the Taino culture, features sports, music, dance and crafts. South of town on the Ruta Panoramica is the Toro Negro Forest Reserve. The town has a population of around 15,000 and is located near the geographic center of the island.
