Belcourt Castle |
This home was designed as the summer residence for Oliver Hazard Perry Belmont and his wife, the former Mrs. William K Vanderbilt, in 1891. The castle is now the home of the Tinney family, whose art collection includes antiques and treasures from 33 countries. Of note is the fine stained-glass collection and the renowned golden coronation coach. A 1-hour guided tour visits the main rooms of the French Louis XIII-style castle. Events are scheduled year-round. Candlelight tours are offered by reservation. Tours are given daily every hour from 9:30am - 4:30pm, Memorial Day to mid-October; at 11am, 1pm, and 2pm April 1st through Memorial Day. Ghost Tours are given Thursdays at 5 pm from Memorial Day through mid-October. Closed Thanksgiving and December 25.
