South Carolina SCV Confederate Museum |
The South Carolina SCV Confederate Museum is dedicated to an accurate portrayal of the history of one of the most tragic periods in America's past: 1861-1865. It displays the events as they were, without embellishment or revisionism, and is home to numerous artifacts and displays portraying the war and home life during that time. The main gallery is home to an extensive collection of arms, artifacts and documents of the war period. Army and Navy are both represented, and the museum features the Morse Carbine, manufactured in Greenville during the war. The Hall of Honor contains examples of the various Confederate flags, memorabilia from Confederate Veterans reunions, and photographs of veterans. The museum maintains an extensive library on the history of the war period.
