Oconee State Park |
Oconee State Park sits on a plateau in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps, many of the structures on the park today display the CCC's rustic style of architecture and stonework. The old overshot waterwheel that supplied early power also survives. Camping, swimming, fishing, boat and canoe rentals, hiking, rental cabins, a park store, archery range, and interpretive center are features. Open daily.
