This is the main information center for the Thurmond Lake at Clarks Hill project. From here, guests may enjoy some wonderful views of the lake and the dam. The Visitors Center offers public restrooms, picnic tables, shelters, walking paths, and more. On the 1,200-mile shoreline of this massive impoundment, an aquarium and hands-on exhibit offer an introduction to the lake country. The Thurmond Lake Visitors Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Admission for guests is free. The entrance is on the north side of US #221, east of the dam on the South Carolina side of Lake Thurmond.
