Northern State University is a public institution, operating under state control, located in Aberdeen, Brown County.
Established in 1901, this is a state-supported institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs in the liberal arts and sciences, business, and education. There are four undergraduate schools and one graduate school. Total enrollment is approximately 3000. The program leads to associates degrees, bachelors degrees and masters degrees.
The 52 acre campus is in an urban area one-half mile south of Aberdeen's city center. Including residence halls, there are 21 buildings.
There are over 100 clubs and organizations on campus. Tours of the campus are available through the admissions office.
