In
Great Lakes Region, Onida is the county seat of
Sully County, and is located along US 83, 30 miles northeast of
Pierre, and 25 miles from the
Missouri River.
It calls itself a progressive agricultural community, boasting state-of-the-art fiber optic Internet service, and year-around recreational opportunities: fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, biking and camping among them.
It annually hosts the Sully County Fair and Rodeo.
