In 1972 the town of Indian Head and the PFRA Tree Nursery joined forces to landscape former prairie pastureland. This visionary project created a stunningly beautiful 9 hole golf course. Indian Head's gently undulating fairways are bordered by more than 30,000 trees and shrubs. Mature pine and spruce, lilacs, dogwoods, rose bushes and other prairie trees and shrubs are home to a variety of prairie songbirds that give the course a natural park-like feel. The overall effect is an easy walking course that provides a challenge to the most discriminating player.
