Romantic Age poet Robert Burns birthplace is located here on the River Doon. There is a museum and monument in Burns honor here. A 700 year old Brig O'Doon, a arched bridge where the witch in Burns' poem, 'Tam O'Shanter,' caught hold of Tam's mare's tail and Auld Alloway Kirk, the scene of the witches' revel in the poem. The Land O' Burns Center is also a popular attraction where books, crafts, and gardens are displayed.
