The River Tweed rises in southern
Peeblesshire at Tweed's Wells, near the source of the Clyde and Annan, and flows in a winding course of about 96 miles through Peeblesshire,
Selkirkshire, and
Roxburghshire, and between
Berwickshire and
Northumberland, entering the
North Sea at
Berwick-upon-Tweed, England. It receives a number of streams, including the Ettrick, Gala, and Teviot.
